About Wells of Hope Africa Initiative

We provide support to African grassroots community based organizations that help children withvincarcerated parents.We respond to wishes of funders or donors to reach children with Incarcerated Parents, through their Love Gifts we are able to provide seed grants to community based grass root charities in Africa reaching children with a parent in prison

Purpose

  1. To mitigate the impact of incarceration on families, specifically on children, and to address widespread social problems in the society caused by crime in Africa.
  2. To advocate for the rights of children with imprisoned parents in line with national and international conventions, policies and resolutions on rights of children.
  3. To be a center of information and resources geared at helping Children with a parent in Prison in Africa.
  4. To offer Capacity Strengthening, Capacity building and Seed Grants to qualifying charities in Africa that provide compassionate and charitable projects and programs to children with a parent in prison, families of people in prison and people in prison. The Key Focus is Children with Incarcerated Parents.
  5. To promote research and studies on issues relating to incarceration in society, with particular focus on children and families of people in prison.
  6. To disseminate sound, proven and effective best practices in the area of addressing the plight of children with a parent in prison, people in prison and their families.
  7. To offer consultancy in the area related to offering interventions to children with a parent in prison.
